Mr. Emmanuel Bonne is the Ambassador of France to Lebanon since August 10th 2015. Until then he was the Diplomatic Advisor for North Africa, the Middle East and the United Nations to the President of the French Republic (2012- 2015).
Prior to this position, he was Political Counsellor and Security Council Coordinator at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in New York from August 2009 to May 2012.
He was also posted to Riyadh as First Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission from 2006 to 2009 and to Tehran as Second Counsellor from 2003 to 2006.
Emmanuel Bonne spent three years in Paris from 2000 in the North Africa and Middle East Department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 1 March 2000, he was admitted at the competition for the position of Counsellor of Foreign Affairs. From 1996 to 1999 he was a researcher at the Centre for studies and research on the contemporary Middle East in Beirut.
He spent two years working in Istanbul as an assistant professor at Marmara University, in the Department of Political and Administrative Science, from 1993 to 1995. Mr Bonne graduated from the Grenoble Institute for Political Studies, France, and holds a postgraduate diploma in political science.
