Robert Fadel was born in Tripoli in Northern Lebanon in 1970.
Mr. Fadel is a member of the Lebanese Parliament since 2009 (www.robertfadel.com).
He is also the Chairman & CEO of ABC (www.abc.com.lb), the leading shopping center and retail company in Lebanon.
Prior to joining ABC, Robert Fadel worked as a consultant in Boston and Paris at Monitor Group (www.monitor.com), a global consulting firm specialized in business strategy.
He has a master degree in finance and economics from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris and a post-graduate degree in Public Administration from ENA, the French Ecole Nationale d’Administration that trains senior civil servants. Mr. Fadel chaired the School’s Global Alumni Association in 2000.
He is married to Hala Frangie, they have three children.Robert Fadel is also the co-author of “Regards sur la France” (Seuil 2007).
In addition, Robert is the founder and President of Bader NGO (www.baderlebanon.com), which is a very successful NGO focused on promoting entrepreneurship in Lebanon and reducing brain drain.
In parallel, his wife Hala set up in 2005 the MIT Arab Business Plan Competition (www.mitarabcompetition.com), which is one of the biggest Business Plan Competition in the world with up to 5000 participants annually from 17 Arab countries.
Robert and Hala are involved in many philanthropic activities such as Ruwwad Lebanon (www.ruwwadlebanon.org) that has been founded and led by Hala since its inception.
In addition, in memory of his late father, Maurice Fadel, Robert and Hala launched in 2010 the Maurice Fadel Prize (www.mauricefadelprize.com), which provides recognition for the best development projects in the region of Northern Lebanon.
